Hundreds of qualified members of the Barangay Tanod Brigades in Dumaguete City received their cash incentives covering the 3rd quarter of 2021 (July to September) at the City Treasurer’s Office this week.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo approved the release of cash incentives for qualified Barangay Tanods in appreciation of their vital role in helping authorities keep the peace in their neighborhoods and help enforce the COVID-19 health protocols.
City DILG Officer Christopher Pastor said that the quarterly cash incentive for barangay tanods is taken from the City Peace and Order funds under aid to PNP and other force multipliers.
Each recipient must complete the mandatory training basically for knife and arnis techniques including the fire drill and lectures are eligible to receive the quarterly cash incentive of P 700.00 per month from the City Government.
The cash incentive is in addition to the honoraria the Tanods get from their respective barangays.
