City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the number of COVID-19 active cases dropped to 166 following the recovery of 26 patients but with 1 new confirmed case and 5 deaths, Monday.
Therefore, the city now has 166 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 956 recoveries and 134 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present November 8, 2021.
The 26 new recoveries include 7 senior citizens, 4 minors and several individuals, who were exposed to earlier COVID-19 cases.
Among the newly recovered patients are residents of Barangays Bajumpandan (4), Bantayan (2), Batinguel (1), Buñao (1), Candau-ay (2), Camanjac (2), Daro (1), Looc (1), Motong (1), Piapi (1), Poblacion 6 (6), Pulantubig (1), Taclobo (2) and Talay (1).
Five (5) COVID-19 patients died in the hospitals that include 2 senior citizens, a BPO employee and 2 other symptomatic individuals in their 40s. Only 1 one of the latest COVID-19 deaths was vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the lone newly confirmed COVID-19 case is a vaccinated 73-year-old grandfather with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness.
Of the 166 active COVID cases: 106 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office; 4 are currently outside of the city; 20 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center; 20 are admitted at NOPH; 3 are confined at ACE Doctors; 6 at Holy Child Hospital and 7 at Negros Polymedic Hospital.
