A 6-year-old child and a 76-year-old senior citizen are among the 22 new COVID-19 cases reported Saturday by the City Health Office along with 6 recoveries and 1 death.
Presently, there are now 192 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 929 recoveries and 128 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to November 6, 2021.
Of the 192 active COVID-19 cases 80 were unvaccinated, 44 have no data yet while 68 were confirmed to have been vaccinated against coronavirus and will be less likely to experience severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.
The 22 new COVID-19 cases include 6 senior citizens, a physician and 2 children and others who were exposed to earlier infected individuals or were tested after manifesting symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI)
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla added that the 22 new COVID19 cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (3), Banilad (3), Bantayan (4), Batinguel (2), Calindagan (1), Candau-ay (1), Daro (1), Piapi (1), Poblacion 7 (1), Pulantubig (2), Tabuctubig (1), Taclobo (1) and Talay (1).
The 6 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Bagacay (1), Batinguel (2) and Candau-ay (3).
Meanwhile, the lone COVID-19 fatality today is a 72-year-old retiree who died while admitted in the hospital.
