Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo announced that if approved, a 3rd vaccination site will start to operate next week after 7 additional health workers were hired to serve more eligible residents.
Meanwhile, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also encouraged parents with children who are 12 to 17-years-old with comorbidities to register online or through their barangay nurses so they can be vaccinated by the pediatricians at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital using Pfizer vaccines from CHO-Dumaguete.
Just recently Dumaguete City received 50, 000 doses of Pfizer vaccines and Mayor Remollo said that more 85, 000 COVID-19 jabs have already been administered to nearly 50, 000 eligible residents.
With the opening of a 3rd vaccination site in addition to the existing Robinson’s Place Dumaguete and Pulantubig Gymnasium, the objective of the City Inter-Agency Task Force to achieve herd immunity may be possible before the year ends provided the supplies of vaccines continue to arrive.
