A 1-year-old baby, with cough and fever, is among the 7 new COVID-19 cases reported Sunday by the City Health Office along with 2 recoveries and 2 deaths.
Presently, there are now 204 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 800 recoveries and 120 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to October 31, 2021.
Of the 204 active COVID-19 cases 107 were unvaccinated while 97 were confirmed to have been vaccinated against coronavirus and will be less likely to experience severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.
The 7 new COVID-19 cases include a hospital worker and an employee of a BPO company who were tested after manifesting symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI)
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla said that the 7 new COVID19 cases are residents of Barangays Batinguel (2), Camanjac (2), Tabuctubig (2) and Taclobo (1).
The 2 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Daro and Junob.
Meanwhile, the 2 new COVID-19 fatalities are unvaccinated individuals who died while admitted in the hospitals.
