Another component of the city’s comprehensive solid waste management is the utilization of glass pulverizers so that the resulting powder or beads can be processed as an alternative for sand in making hollow blocks and cement pavers to be used for the various infrastructure projects of the local government.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city officials recently inspected the machines that include glass pulverizers/shredder and the plastic recycling equipment capable of converting plastic wastes to chairs as they were installed at the Central Materials Recovery Facility.
After more than 3 decades, Mayor Remollo implemented the closure of the dumpsite in Barangay Candau-ay to ensure the full operations of the Central Materials Recovery Facility inside the 8-hectare Eco-Park Solid Waste Processing Facility.
