A 90 year-old grandmother is among the 25 new COVID-19 cases confirmed today by the City Health Office along with 36 recoveries and 1 death.
Presently, there are 233 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 558 recoveries and 112 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to October 21, 2021.
The 25 new COVID-19 cases include 5 children, 3 senior citizens, 2 BPO employees, a health worker, 2 employees of private companies and several others who manifested Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla said that the 25 new COVID19 cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (3), Banilad (2), Bantayan (4), Batinguel (1), Cadawinonan (5), Daro (1), Looc (4), Motong (1) and Taclobo (4).
Meanwhile, the 36 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Bagacay (3), Bajumpandan (1), Bantayan (4), Buñao (5), Cadawinonan (1), Candau-ay (3), Daro (2), Junob (1), Looc (1), Motong (3), Piapi (1), Poblacion 1 (1), Pulantubig (1), Tabuctubig (4), Taclobo (4) and Talay (1).
Of the 233 active COVID cases: 177 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office; 16 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center; 17 are admitted at NOPH; 7 are confined at ACE Doctors; 7 at Holy Child Hospital; 5 are admitted at Negros Polymedic Hospital while 4 are outside of the city.
