City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports 17 new COVID-19 cases with12 recoveries and 4 deaths confirmed Wednesday.
There are now 155 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 401 recoveries and 101 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present October 13, 2021.
Twelve (12) of the 17 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are persons with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness, 4 are close contacts of previous cases and 1 was swabbed for travel.
Among the new cases 2 health workers, a foreigner, a teacher, housewives and 4 retirees.
The 12 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Banilad (2), Batinguel, Calindagan (2), Camanjac, Junob, Manganao, Motong and Taclobo.
Meanwhile, the 4 COVID-19 fatalities include 3 senior citizens with comorbidities and a 50-year-old stage 3 cancer patient. The remains of all 4 COVID fatalities, who were hospitalized when they died, have been cremated.
