Relatives, friends and colleagues in public service of the late Atty. Orlando V. Remollo gathered (physical and virtual) for the necrological service held in his honor at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session hall today.
Reverend Father Enrique N. Balongag presided over the Eucharistic celebration and expressed his message of sympathy to the bereaved family of Atty. Orlando Remollo Sr., who lived a long, productive and genial life. He was 89-years-old.
Provincial Consultant Dr. Henry Sojor (representing Governor Roel Degamo) SP Member Ma. Antonia E. Villegas and Atty. Marcelino E. Saldivar delivered eulogies remembering him as colleague in public service and as a close friend, respectively.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dumaguete City and the Municipality of San Jose led by Vice-Governor Mark Macias, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino Maxino and Mayor Mel Nick Logronio, respectively, passed resolutions expressing deepest condolences to the family and paying tribute to his virtues as a public servant.
The late Atty. Orlando V. Remollo served as a Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan 2nd District from 1976 – 1980; Mayor of San Jose from 1980 to 1985 and again as Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan June 30, 1992 – June 30, 2001.
He was also elected National President of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines with SP Member Villegas as National Treasurer.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, son of the late Atty. Orlando Remollo, expressed sincere gratitude to all those who offered condolences and supported their family as they mourn the passing of their beloved father who dedicated his life to family, his legal profession and public service.
Mayor Remollo said that the family will remain committed to honest service and ethical conduct in honor of the memory of their father who served the people of Negros Oriental including Dumaguete City with integrity and competence.
The funeral mass for the late Atty. Orlando V. Remollo will be held tomorrow (October 14), 7:30AM at the Redemptorist Church burial to follow at the Gardens in Barangay Cadawinonan.
