About 2, 555 qualified senior citizens, identified by DSWD Region 7, have already received their social pensions at P 3, 000 per beneficiary covering the 2nd semester of 2021.
The City Social Welfare Office informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo that qualified social pensioners in the city were selected by the Regional Office 7 of DSWD through the following criteria:
1. Must be 60 years old and above
2. Those who are not receiving any pension or survivorship pensions
3. Those who are not receiving financial support from children, especially from abroad
4. Those who have medical maintenance
5. Those who are among the indigent residents of the barangay especially those who are bed ridden.
The organizers of the payout of the social pension with the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs enforced the local health protocols to prevent any transmission of COVID-19.
