Twenty-two (22) COVID-19 patients have recovered but with 9 new cases and 2 deaths reported Monday by the City Health Office.
Presently, Dumaguete City has 151 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 236 recoveries and 89 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to the present October 4, 2021.
The 22 new COVID-19 recoveries included an 89-year-old senior citizen with comorbidities and residents of Barangays Bagacay (2), Bajumpandan (2), Bantayan, Batinguel, Buñao (2), Cadawinonan (2), Candau-ay (3), Junob, Piapi, Pulantubig (2), Taclobo (3) and Talay.
Two COVID-19 patients, a 62-year-old woman with cervical cancer and a 72-year-old senior citizen died today while confined in the hospitals. Both their remains have been cremated.
Meanwhile, the 9 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangays Bajumpandan, Daro (2), Junob (2), Mangnao (3) and Piapi, who are now isolated with their close contacts subject to swab tests.
