The members of the City Development Council unanimously adopted on Friday the Annual Investment Program of the proposed P 1.1 billion budget of Dumaguete City for Calendar Year 2022.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said that next year’s budget embodies the priority programs, projects and activities for the General Services Sector, Gender and Development, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability, Local Council for the Protection for Women and Children, Peace and Order and Public Safety, combat illegal drugs, comply to devolved functions, service and facilities and others.
Among the major infrastructure projects that Mayor Remollo will pursue in 2022 include the construction of concrete bridge connecting Candau-ay-Balugo (recently closed dumpsite) at P43.9 million; construction of bridge connecting Barangays Batinguel-Junob amounting to P25 million; shoreline protection for Poblacion 1 (Tinago) at P 15 million and establishment of sanitary landfill at P 15 million.
Meanwhile, Mayor Remollo also informed the assembled full membership of the City Development Council that the City Government will begin the construction of the flood control project for Banilad-Mangnao with an initial budget of P 8 million if the consent of the owners of the lot who will be affected by the project’s right of way will be secured.
