Ten children, as young as 2 years-old, along with senior citizens and health workers are among the 27 new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday.
However, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also disclosed that 15 COVID patients have already recovered including 4 elderly in their 70s and 80s.
There are 145 active COVID-19 cases with 3, 125 recoveries and 84 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present September 28, 2021.
The 27 new COVID-19 cases are mostly members of the same households or exposed to patients with coronavirus in Barangays Bajumpandan, Banilad, Cadawinonan, Cantil-e, Junob, Looc, Piapi, Poblacion 1 and Taclobo.
Meanwhile, the 15 new COVID-19 recoveries include hospital workers, persons with travel history outside of Dumaguete City, college instructors, a BPO employee and entrepreneurs.
Of the 145 active COVID cases: 118 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office; 12 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center; 7 are admitted at NOPH; 2 are confined at ACE Doctors; 4 are at Holy Child Hospital and 2 cases are outside of Dumaguete City.
