A delegation from the Supreme Court met with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino and Councilor Lilani Ramon in the past 2 days to discuss the assistance that the City Government can provide and conduct ocular inspection for the orderly conduct of the 2020/21 Bar Examinations on November 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario Victor F. Leonen, Chairperson of the 2020/21 Bar Examinations, requested Mayor Remollo for his support in providing the needed resources, traffic management, police assistance, health protocols and cooperation of the barangays for the entire duration of the exam.
Silliman University College of Law has been selected as one of the 28 local testing centers across the country in an “unprecedented move to meet the sign of the times, the exams will be digitalized, proctored and localized, administered not in one venue, but in several cities and municipalities.”
The delegation from the SC was led by Atty. Maria Victoria Tiangco and the staff of the Office of the Bar Chairperson and Office of the Bar Confidant also convened the representatives of different agencies and organizations, through Assistant City Administrator Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, for a coordination meeting as part of the preparations to ensure the safety of court personnel, examinees, local government staff and the general public during the conduct of the bar examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
About 1, 020 examinees from various law schools in Visayas and Mindanao are expected to take the bar on the 4 Sundays of November.
