Personnel of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group led by Police Lt. Rexy Q. Calubing paid a courtesy call to Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino and manifested their objective of strengthening the partnership with the Local Government of Dumaguete in preventing or penalizing cybercrime offenses.
During the courtesy call to VM Tolentino-Maxino, P/Lt. Calubing was accompanied by PSMS Mark Jester Ayunting and P/Corporal Hope Lester Callojellas.
The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group is a unit which handles crimes committed with the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) focusing on cybercrime offenses, computer-related offenses, and other content-related offenses such as cybersex, child pornography, unsolicited commercial communication, and other related offenses.
Recently, PNP Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar, launched the Project E-ACCESS (Enhanced Anti-Cybercrime Campaign, Education, Safety and Security), which according to him is a web platform for concerned netizens involving online account such as mobile number, email, website or social media application that has been subject of a verified complaint or with pending criminal case for cybercrime violations base on PNP ACG data.
