Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded the National IATF for sending 8, 000 vials of COVID-19 vaccines for eligible residents of Dumaguete City, which arrived on National Heroes Day, yesterday.
The latest shipment of COVID-19 vaccines were received and inspected at the airport by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla, Dr. Socrates Villamor of DOH Negros Oriental and Provincial IATF Ground Commander Dr. Liland Estacion.
The shares of COVID-19 vaccines for Negros Oriental and Siquijor were also received at 23, 500 and 8, 000 vials, respectively.
Mayor Remollo said the latest shipment of vaccines will help accelerate the inoculation of eligible city residents in the sustained effort to achieve herd immunity even as the local authorities are trying to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Dr. Talla reported to Mayor Remollo that more than 27, 000 eligible residents belonging from A1 to A5 categories have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
