The National Inter-Agency Task Force MEID sent 4, 000 additional vials of COVID-19 vaccines direct to Dumaguete City today.
Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo commended the national government for this latest shipment, which will be used to augment the local supply COVID-19 vaccines allowing the City Health Office to continue its immunization of eligible residents.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas received the COVID vaccines at the airport.
Mayor Remollo expects additional supplies of vaccines to arrive within the week from the National IATF in response to the City Government’s request to accelerate the immunization of all eligible residents.
About 37, 643 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered by the City Health office to 22, 886 eligible residents (belonging to A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5) using Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna and Janssen jabs as of August 21, 2021.
