Fifteen (15) barangays reported zero active COVID-19 cases while 9 others are managing just 1 or 2 active cases as of August 15, 2021.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also reported to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that the number of active COVID-19 cases has declined to just 49 cases from a peak of 651 in mid-June.
The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has also dropped to just 20 whose conditions required admission.
But, Mayor Remollo reiterated the need to follow the health protocols and acceleration of the vaccination of eligible population to prevent another surge of cases especially with the threat of the more contagious delta variant.
