Twenty-three (23) of the 30 barangays in Dumaguete City registered zero to just 1 active COVID-19 case as of Sunday.
However, 1 new COVID-19 cases and 1 recovery were reported today.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that there are 47 active COVID-19 cases with 2, 746 recoveries and 79 deaths from January 30, 2020 to August 8, 2021.
The 12 barangays with zero active COVID-19 cases are Barangays Balugo, Buñao, Candau-ay, Cantil-e, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Poblacion 5, Poblacion 7, Poblacion 8 and Tabuc-Tubig.
Meanwhile, the 11 barangays managing just 1 active COVID-19 case are Barangays Bagacay, Bajumpandan, Bantayan, Batinguel, Cadawinonan, Camanjac, Daro, Junob, Poblacion 6, Pulantubig and Talay.
The 7 other remaining barangays and their corresponding number of active COVID cases include Barangays Banilad (4), Calindagan (3), Looc (3), Mangnao 8, Motong (10), Piapi (5) and Taclobo (3).
