City Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas led the Health Marshals in patrolling the city streets to disperse unauthorized mass gatherings, impose curfew and health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The street patrols serve as constant reminder to the public that the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevalent and that discipline is needed to prevent the spread of infection especially among the vulnerable members of the community.
Violators are warned that they can be fined and detained for defying the local health protocols and curfew.
The Health Marshals are composed of personnel from the City Health Office, Philippine National Police, Traffic Management Office, Special Enforcement Unit, Department Trade Industry, City Social Welfare and Development Office and Bureau of Fire Protection.
