For the first time in 2 months the number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped to just 114 from a peak of 651 last June 15, 2021.
The last time that Dumaguete City registered about the same number of active cases was last May 14 with 118 COVID-19 cases.
Today, the City Health Office reported 15 new COVID-19 cases with 5 recoveries per the latest swab test results as of July 18, 2021.
Hence, since the city was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to July 18, 2021 there are 114 active COVID cases; 2, 581 recoveries and 75 deaths.
The 15 new COVID-19 cases are residents of the following barangays: Bagacay (2); Bajumpandan (1); Balugo (1); Banilad (1); Batinguel (1); Camanjac (1); Daro (1); Looc (1); Piapi (2); Poblacion 8 (2) and Pulantubig (2).
Among the new cases are: BPO workers, businessmen, students, health worker and close contacts of COVID-19 cases in the same households.
