The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council endorsed yesterday the allocation of P 24.9 million to fund the various expenses required for COVID-19 response and mitigation.
Since the start of the pandemic, all COVID-19 positive cases and their close contacts in the 30 barangays are provided with food by the City’s community kitchen during the entire duration that they are under isolation or quarantined.
Food rations are also provided to COVID-19 frontliners in the Quarantine Control Points/checkpoints, Health Marshals, drivers and support staff deployed daily and beyond office hours to manage and enforce the protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The City COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will also utilize said fund to procure the communication tools, human resources, equipment, backup power sources and service vehicles.
The City Government maintains an EOC to harmonize and make efficient the response actions during the COVID-19 pandemic and other emergencies connected to it.
All the proposed expenses amounting to P24.9 million will be charged against the unobligated and unexpended balance of the 2020 Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund.
