Dumaguete-based archers and coaches, who are part of the Philippine National team, pay their courtesy call to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city officials after competing in 2 international tournaments in Paris, France from June 18-27, 2021.
Siblings Pia Elizabeth Angela and Gabrielle Monica Bidaure along with coaches Purita Joy Mariño and Clint Sayo competed in the Final Qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics (June 18-21) and Paris 2021 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage (June 21-27) with the other members of the Philippine team.
Coach Mariño said that the team and the World Archery Philippines are appreciative of the strong support shown by Mayor Remollo to the training and development of our local archers, who are now among the best in the country and Southeast Asia.
Also present during the courtesy call are Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., SK President Renz Macion, City Tourism Office Jacqueline Antonio and City Sports Coordinator Ike Xavier Villaflores.
As they are slated to compete in more international tournaments, the World Archery Philippines is also coordinating with the City Government for the use of the Pantawan 2 People’s Park as a training venue for the archers.
