The City Health Office is in constant alert to respond on any serious case of adverse event/side effects of people following their COVID-19 vaccination.
Health workers assigned in the barangays are ready to investigate and initiate medical intervention to individuals who may complain of adverse event/side effects following their immunization.
The Department of Health describes adverse event following immunization as an experience of some side effects, similar to having the flu but this should go away in a few days.
DOH asserts that is a normal sign that your body is building protection. In most cases, discomfort from fever or pain is normal.
However, newly vaccinated persons are asked to contact a health care provider if the redness or tenderness where they got the shot increases after 24 hours or if the side effects are too worrying or do not seem to be going away after a few days.
It is important that they report to the health authorities so experts can study whether the adverse event was indeed a result of vaccination or a mere coincidence.
