About 7, 000 additional vials of COVID-19 vaccines (SINOVAC) from the national government were received by the City Health Office today that will help accelerate the vaccination of more residents.
This is the 3rd shipment sent by the national government in response to the request of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo for the allocation of more vaccines for Dumaguete City residents considering the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
Mayor Remollo again acknowledged President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Bong Go, and Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. for facilitating the shipment, which would accelerate the immunization of eligible residents to achieve herd immunity.
The national government has already provided 27, 000 COVID vaccines to Dumaguete City in 3 shipments.
At present, some 11, 330 eligible residents have already been vaccinated from COVID-19 as of July 6, 2021 based on the order of priority of the Department of Health.
Dr. Talla and City Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas went to the airport to document the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccines that were later received by Mayor Remollo, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino, Councilors Manuel Sagarbarria, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Lilani Ramon, Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores and Sangguniang Kabataan President Renz Macion as they were unloaded for storage at the City Health Office.
