The City Health Office reports 7 new confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1 recovery based on the latest release of swab test results, Sunday.
Presently, the city has 189 active COVID-19 cases, 2, 313 recoveries and 66 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present July 4, 2021.
The 7 new COVID-19 cases are from Barangays Banilad, Cantil-e, Daro, Junob, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 6 and Poblacion 8.
The lone COVID patient who recovered today is a resident of Barangay Camanjac.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the 189 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday are distributed in the following barangays:
Bagacay (12); Bajumpandan (5); Balugo (2); Banilad (15); Bantayan (6); Batinguel (21); Buñao (3); Cadawinonan (4); Calindagan (9); Camanjac 8; Candau-ay (13); Cantil-e (2); Daro (16); Junob (14); Looc (2); Mangnao (7); Motong (6); Piapi (5); Poblacion 1 (1); Poblacion 2 (0); Poblacion 3 (1); Poblacion 4 (1); Poblacion 5 (0); Poblacion 6 (2); Poblacion 7 (1); Poblacion 8 (3); Pulantubig (2); Tabuc-tubig (6); Taclobo (19) and Talay (3).
Thirty-eight (38) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 23 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined starting today and shall undergo swab testing.
