The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped anew as 71 COVID-19 patients have recovered but with 18 new confirmed cases and 1 death reported Friday.
Hence, since the city was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to June 25, 2021 there are 287 active COVID cases; 1, 894 recoveries and 63 deaths.
Barangay Candau-ay registered the most number of COVID-19 recoveries with 12 of its residents declared to have recovered after swab tests.
The other new COVID recoveries are residents of Barangays Bagacay (5); Bajumpandan (6); Balugo (1); Banilad (3); Bantayan (7); Batinguel (3); Cadawinonan (5); Camanjac (3); Daro (6); Junob (1); Looc (2); Motong (5); Piapi (1); Poblacion 2 (1); Poblacion 8 (1); Pulantubig (7) and Taclobo (2).
Meanwhile, the 18 new COVID-19 cases are residents of the following barangays: Bagacay (1); Balugo (2); Candau-ay (1); Daro (11); Looc (1), Mangnao (1) and Pulantubig (1).
The latest fatality, a 70-year-old confirmed COVID-19 positive was also suffering from chronic kidney disease, hypertension and pneumonia.
The new COVID-19 cases are still the combined results of those tested in the hospitals, PESU and the expanded swab testing of close contacts.
