The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped significantly following the recovery of 178 COVID-19 patients but with 15 new confirmed cases and 1 death reported Friday.
Hence, since the city was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to June 18, 2021 there are 480 active COVID cases; 1, 445 recoveries and 57 deaths.
The 178 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of the following barangays: Bagacay (12); Bajumpandan (6); Balugo (6); Banilad (15); Bantayan (14); Batinguel (13); Cadawinonan (7); Calindagan (8); Camanjac (2); Candau-ay (17); Cantil-e (1); Daro (9); Junob (13); Looc (6); Mangnao (8); Motong (9); Piapi (14); Poblacion 3 (3); Poblacion 6 (1); Poblacion 8 (1); Pulantubig (3); Tabuc-tubig (4); Taclobo (3) and Talay (3).
Meanwhile, the city registered 15 new cases from Barangays Bajumpandan (2), Bantayan (6), Batinguel (3), Cantil-e (1) and Motong (3).
The latest COVID-19 fatality is a senior citizen who was admitted in a hospital for dyspnea and diarrhea.
The 39 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases are quarantined and will undergo RT PCR swab tests.
Meanwhile, 38 Persons Under Monitoring were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
