The City Health Office reports 61 COVID-19 recoveries and 45 new cases based on the latest release of swab RT-PCR test results, Thursday.
Presently, the city now has 635 active COVID-19 cases, 1, 269 recoveries and 56 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present June 17, 2021.
It was previously reported that there were already 58 deaths, however upon revalidation, it was determined that 2 deaths listed under Dumaguete City were not residents of the city but from another place.
The 61 new recoveries are residents of Barangays Bajumpandan (3); Balugo (1); Bantayan (2); Batinguel (2); Cadawinonan (1); Calindagan (8); Camanjac (2); Cantil-e (1); Daro (13); Junob (6); Looc (1); Mangnao (2); Motong (1); Piapi (8); Poblacion 4 (1); Poblacion 8 (1); Pulantubig (2); Taclobo (4) and Talay (2).
Meanwhile, the 45 new COVID-19 cases are residents of the following barangays: Bagacay (2); Bajumpandan (1); Banilad (7); Bantayan (8); Batinguel (3); Buñao (3); Camanjac (2); Candau-ay (3); Cantil-e (2); Daro (4); Junob (2); Looc (1); Motong (1); Piapi (1); Pulantubig (3); Taclobo (1) and Talay (1).
The new COVID-19 cases are still the combined results of those tested in the hospitals, PESU and the continuing expanded swab testing of close contacts.
Twenty (20) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 134 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 1 PUM with symptoms of ILI.
