The City Health Office reports 48 new COVID-19 cases, 37 recoveries with 3 deaths, Monday.
Presently, Dumaguete City has 514 active COVID-19 cases, 1,134 recoveries and 54 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to the present June 14, 2021.
The 48 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (3), Bajumpandan (2), Banilad (5), Bantayan (3), Batinguel (2), Buñao (1), Calindagan (1), Camanjac (1), Candau-ay (1), Cantil-e (2), Daro (7), Looc (1), Motong (5), Poblacion 6 (1), Poblacion 8 (2), Piapi (3), Pulantubig (2), Taclobo (3) and Talay (3).
The new COVID-19 cases are mostly based on the results of the massive swab testing of close contacts of confirmed cases in the city for their immediate isolation and treatment.
Among the 37 new recoveries are 5 senior citizens, bank employees, and close contacts of previous COVID patients.
The 3 reported deaths that occurred in separate dates were all swabbed post mortem and later confirmed positive of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the 514 active COVID-19 cases as of June 14, 2021 are residents of Barangays: Bagacay (32); Bajumpandan (22); Balugo (14); Banilad (31); Bantayan (32); Batinguel (31); Buñao (4); Cadawinonan (19); Calindagan (25); Camanjac (14) Candau-ay (16); Cantil-e (5); Daro (32); Junob (27); Looc (9); Mangnao (18); Motong (32); Piapi (70); Poblacion 2 (1); Poblacion 3 (3); Poblacion 4 (1); Poblacion 6 (1); Poblacion 7 (1); Poblacion 8 (13); Pulantubig (23); Tabuc-tubig (9), Taclobo (15) and Talay (14).
Twenty-six (26) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 79 close contacts of COVID-19 cases from different barangays were quarantined starting today and will be subject to RT-PCR swab tests.
