Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo reiterated the directive of both the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Liga ng mga Barangay for the barangay officials to take the lead in the enhanced implementation of local health protocols.
During Friday’s zoom meeting presided by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo with key department heads, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino and several city councilors, the barangay officials are specifically directed to: a) continue recorida/information education campaign against COVID-19, b) Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) must be fully functional as required by law and c) continue to apprehend violators of COVID-19 protocols especially those not wearing face masks.
Other matters discussed during the meeting included the instructions of Mayor Remollo for the improvement and maintenance of isolation facilities, the request for more hotel rooms that can accommodate COVID patients; purchase of additional multi-vitamins and medicine to be given to those in isolation facilities aside from the free meals already provided by the City Social Welfare and Development Office; purchase of additional ambulance and purchase of air purifiers to be placed in every office of the City Government aside from the regular disinfection.
