The City Health Office reports 48 new COVID-19 cases, 39 recoveries with 2 deaths as of Wednesday afternoon.
Presently, Dumaguete City has 374 active COVID-19 cases, 1,008 recoveries and 48 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to the present June 9, 2021.
The 48 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (15), Balugo (2), Banilad (4), Bantayan (9), Batinguel (1), Calindagan (4), Candau-ay (2), Cantil-e (3), Junob (3), Poblacion 8 (3) and Talay (2).
The new COVID-19 cases are still based on the results of the massive swab testing of close contacts of confirmed cases in the city for their immediate isolation and treatment.
Among the 39 recoveries are 6 senior citizens, several government employees and close contacts of previous COVID patients.
The latest 2 fatalities reported today are senior citizens, who died with COVID while in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the 374 active COVID-19 cases as of June 9, 2021 are residents of Barangays: Bagacay (25); Bajumpandan (15); Balugo (6); Banilad (25); Bantayan (21); Batinguel (14); Buñao (5); Cadawinonan (4); Calindagan (31); Camanjac (5) Candau-ay (13); Cantil-e (6); Daro (37); Junob (24); Looc (13); Mangnao (8); Motong (12); Piapi (46); Poblacion 1 (1); Poblacion 2 (1); Poblacion 4 (1), Poblacion 5 (2); Poblacion 6 (1); Poblacion 8 (4); Pulantubig (10); Tabuc-tubig (10), Taclobo (25) and Talay (9).
Twenty-eight (28) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 22 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 1 PUM with symptoms of ILI.
