The City Health Office confirms 9 new COVID-19 cases, including a 2-year-old boy, with 4 recoveries and 1 death based on the latest release of swab RT-PCR test results, Saturday.
Presently, Dumaguete City has 308 active COVID-19 cases, 878 recoveries and 44 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to the present June 5, 2021.
The 9 new cases are: a 2-year-old boy exposed to his parents, who were COVID positive; a male resident of Barangay Bajumpandan; the secretary of a physician; 2 residents of Barangay Daro; a 43-year-old businessman; a bank employee exposed to a colleague and 2 residents of Barangay Talay.
Meanwhile, the 4 COVID cases who have recovered include a retiree, a physician, a provincial government employee and a resident of Barangay Calindagan.
Ten (10) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 22 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 4 PUMs with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness.
