The City Health Office reports 25 COVID-19 recoveries, 19 new cases with 1 death based on the latest release of swab RT-PCR test results, Tuesday.
Presently, the city now has 239 active COVID-19 cases, 757 recoveries and 42 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present June 1, 2021.
The 19 new cases are: 3 employees of the government, who were exposed to a COVID confirmed case; 4 employees of 3 different banks; 2 BPO agents; a 64-year-old grandfather, who was exposed to a COVID case from Bacong; an auditor of a financial institution; a security guard with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI; a 51-year-old pastor with ILI; a barangay employee; a grandfather with comorbidities; 2 residents of Barangay Daro with ILI; the 87-year-old mother and 3-year-old son exposed to COVID confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, the 25 COVID-19 recoveries include: 2 retirees; a vendor; a government employee; 3 employees of private companies; an engineer; 2 children of COVID patients; 2 close contacts of a confirmed case from Sibulan; 7 close contacts of COVID confirmed cases; a 44-year-old baker; a 37-year-old faculty member; a 49-year-old Person Deprived of Liberty; a BPO agent; a Barangay Health Worker and a 34-year-old woman swabbed as part of travel requirements.
A 21-year-old bed-ridden woman with cerebral palsy, who died yesterday tested positive of COVID-19.
Sixteen (16) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 8 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 2 PUMs with symptoms of ILI.
