City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla confirms 12 new COVID-19 cases and 2 recoveries, Monday.
Hence, from January 30, 2020 to May 31, 2021 the city has 245 active COVID-19 cases, 732 recoveries and 41 deaths.
The 12 new COVID cases are: a 37-year-old product sales representative exposed to a COVID case from Bacolod City; a contractor who was swabbed as part of travel requirement; the mother, sister and son of confirmed cases in Barangay Banilad; 43-year-old self-employed lady with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness; a male resident of Barangay Motong; an 82-year-old retired physician; a 36-year-old student and 2 provincial government employees.
All COVID-19 active cases are isolated while their 22 known close contacts are quarantined along with 2 persons with symptoms of ILI.
Meanwhile, the 2 new COVID recoveries are: the 38-year-old cashier of a store and the 50-year-old provincial government employee.
Dr. Talla also reported that 16 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
