Health marshals led by City Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas and City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla inspected malls, food and grocery stores today in line with the enhanced enforcement of protocols against COVID-19.
The City of Dumaguete remains under Modified General Community Quarantine or MGCQ with measures limiting the movement and gathering of people, who are at all times required to wear face masks and physical distancing at all times.
Under the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine, gatherings shall be allowed up to 50% of the seating or venue capacity.
Thus, dine-in service in food retail establishments such as supermarkets, grocery stores and food preparation establishments (including tempurahan and cheese stick country) are allowed to operate up to 50% of the seating or venue capacity.
Section 4 of City Ordinance No. 65 series of 2020 provides that failure of the business establishments to impose physical distancing inside their premises, provide alcohol and sanitizers to employees and clients and conduct daily disinfection will be penalized with a fine and subsequent revocation of the business permit on 3rd offense.
