The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases confirms 12 new COVID-19 cases, 5 of them are hospital workers; but with 3 new recoveries and 1 death reported as of Sunday.
Therefore, the number of active COVID cases increased to 235 with 730 recoveries and 41 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to May 30, 2021.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that the 235 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (7), Bajumpandan (9), Balugo (3), Banilad (9), Bantayan (25), Batinguel (16), Buñao (7), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (27), Camanjac (2), Candau-ay (12), Cantil-e (5), Daro (25), Junob (😎, Looc (12), Mangnao (6), Motong (3), Piapi (14), Poblacion 1 (1), Poblacion 4 (1), Poblacion 5 (1), Poblacion 6 (1), Pulantubig (5), Tabuc-tubig (4), Taclobo (27) and Talay (4).
The 12 new COVID-19 cases are: 5 hospital workers (doctors, nurse, staff and technician); 3 senior citizens with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI); 2 government employees with symptoms of ILI; a bank teller and a mechanical engineer.
Meanwhile, the 4 COVID-19 patients who have recovered are: 2 hospital workers, a government clerk and an employee of a private company.
The latest fatality was a 63-year-old senior citizen, who was hospitalized for being symptomatic with comorbidities and died 3 days later.
Seventy-four (74) known contacts of COVID-19 positive cases are under strict quarantine along with 2 individuals who have symptoms of ILI.
