The City Health Office has confirmed 18 new COVID-19 cases with 7 recoveries including 4 members of the same family who were exposed to a relative.
Hence, from January 30, 2020 to May 29, 2021 the city has had a total of 994 COVID-19 cases: 228 active, 726 recoveries and 40 deaths.
The 18 new COVID-19 cases are the following:
BARANGAY BAGACAY (3): 65-year-old with asthma; 88-year-old who was admitted with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and 71-year-old operations staff of a company.
BARANGAY BANILAD (2): 2 employees of the provincial government
BARANGAY BANTAYAN: a 25-year-old trainer of a BPO company
BARANGAY CALINDAGAN (3): 13-year-old student with history of travel to Cebu; 23-year-old who was swabbed for work requirement and 77-year-old senior citizen with symptoms of ILI.
BARANGAY CANDAU-AY (2): a loan officer and a lady resident
BARANGAY DARO (2): a government official and a 22-year-old woman with symptoms of ILI
BARANGAY LOOC: a 17-year-old female student
BARANGAY MOTONG: a male resident
BARANGAY PIAPI: 29-year-old clerk of a cooperative
POBLACION 5: a bank employee with symptoms of ILI
BARANGAY TACLOBO: 26-year-old housewife with symptoms of ILI
The 7 new COVID recoveries are: 4 members of the same family who were exposed to a relative; the 23-year-old employee of a cooperative; the 36-year-old teacher and the 22-year-old nurse.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also reported that 4 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 27 close contacts of COVID-19 cases and 1 person with symptoms of ILI have been quarantined and shall be tested.
