66-YEAR-OLD WITH COVID-19 EXPIRES; ONLY 1 NEW CASE REPORTED
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla confirms only 1 new COVID-19 case but with1 death reported Thursday.
The latest fatality is a 66-year-old senior citizen, who died with COVID-19, but also had final diagnosis septic shock, critical pneumonia with hypoxemia, acute kidney injury on top of chronic kidney disease.
The lone COVID-19 case is a 20-year –old student in Barangay Bantayan, who was exposed to a COVID patient.
Hence, there are 200 active COVID-19 cases, 719 recoveries and 40 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to May 27, 2021.
Meanwhile, 38 Persons Under Monitoring were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
In contrast, 83 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 10 PUMs with symptoms of ILI.
