The City Health Office confirms 29 COVID-19 recoveries, 27 new cases with 1 death based on the latest release of swab RT-PCR test results, Wednesday.
Presently, the city now has 199 active COVID-19 cases, 721 recoveries and 39 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present May 26, 2021.
The 27 new cases are: a couple in their late 60’s and a driver in Barangay Bajumpandan; a resident of Barangay Bagacay now isolated at NOPH; 2 males who were tested for travel but asymptomatic; a 20-year-old male student, a pharmacist, a senior citizen with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI), 3 house helpers exposed to COVID cases; the 26-year-old brother of a COVID case who works online; 8 local and national officials and employees; 2 health workers (a nurse and a doctor); a Chinese national and 3 men who exhibited symptoms of ILI.
Meanwhile, the 29 COVID-19 recoveries include a security guard; parents of a COVID positive case; a bank employee; mother and her infant; a bank employee, 1 businessman, 7 close contacts of COVID cases, 2 individuals who work online, 4 government employees, 2 hospital workers, a company driver, 4 employees of private companies and a BPO employee.
A 68-year-old woman who died yesterday tested COVID-19 with final diagnosis to include septic shock, sever pneumonia, infected pressure ulcer, type 2 diabetes mellitus with complications and end stage kidney disease.
Thirty (30) Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 43 close contacts of COVID-19 cases were quarantined today along with 2 PUMs with symptoms of ILI.
