City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and the Negros Oriental Medical Society (NOMS) came to an agreement with the Liga ng mga Barangay, today, to utilize all available personnel including purok leaders to help regulate mass gatherings and big parties in their communities.
Based on the timelines, many of the COVID-19 cases were found to have attended parties prior to infection or acquired the virus in the workplace thus transmitting the virus to members of their families or friends.
Hence, the Liga ng mga Punong Barangay led by its President Dionie Amores will consolidate all the timelines of the COVID-19 positive cases for submission by Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTS) and contact tracers to the City Health Office, NOMS President Dr. Joven Occeña and Dr. Kenneth Coo subject to further analysis and appropriate responses.
It was also agreed that the contact tracing must be comprehensive, precise and done in a timely fashion for prompt identification and isolation of people exposed to COVID cases that will help reduce transmission of the virus.
