The proposed training center of the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority breaks ground inside the Eco-Park and MRF compound in Barangay Candau-ay, Friday.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo assured TESDA Assistant Regional Director Floro T. Ringca and Provincial Director Joel Villagracia reiterated his firm support to the project of providing a training center for learners not only from Dumaguete City but the entire province.
Earlier, Mayor Remollo signed the Deed of Usufruct, which allows TESDA to utilize the 10,000 square meter lot owned by the City Government in Barangay Candau-ay for the construction of the training center for the next 25 years.
The first-ever training center in the province aims to produce men and women with the appropriate skills as certified by TESDA for employment opportunities here and abroad.
Among the city officials, who expressed support and present during the groundbreaking and blessing ceremony are City Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Michael Bandal, Lilani Ramon, Edgar Lentorio, Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK President Renz Macion, TESDA officials and other stakeholders.
