After immunizing most of the city’s health workers and COVID-19 frontliners, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo that the vaccination of the senior citizens, who are among earliest to register online, will begin tomorrow strictly on a first-come first-served basis.
Thus, all senior citizens, who have already registered, are instructed to wait for the call from the City Health Office for confirmation along with the instruction as to the exact date of their vaccination.
It is reiterated for senior citizens to register online at so they will be included in the master list for submission to DOH.
Dr. Talla said that at the moment the supply of vaccines solely comes from the national government and sent to the Provincial Health Office, which allocates and distributes the vaccines to all 25 cities and municipalities.
Hence, the City Health Office will administer the vaccination for senior citizens until the supply or allocation for Dumaguete City lasts.
The Office of Mayor Remollo is also requesting the national government and the Provincial Health Office to allocate more COVID vaccines for Dumaguete City being the center of trade and commerce with a bigger population than the other LGUs.
