Upon the directive of Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, the City Human Resource Management Office is preparing the documents of 148 Job Order Workers and nurses for appointment to casual plantilla positions in 3 batches.
For the 1st batch, 56 Job Order Workers and nurses were appointed to casual plantilla positions by Mayor Remollo effective May 1, 2021.
In particular, Mayor Remollo has appointed all nurses as casual employees in consideration to their dedicated service in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2nd batch of 50 Job Order workers are appointed to casual plantilla positions effective July 1, 2021 and the 3rd batch of 42 JO workers will elevated as casuals effective October 1, 2021.
Assistant City Administrator and City Human Resource Management Officer Dr. Dinno T. Depositario stressed that Mayor Remollo has decided to appoint deserving JO workers for casual plantilla positions in recognition of their impressive job performance and qualifications as recommended by their department heads.
Under the “Piece of the Pie” program of the Remollo administration to professionalize the service, all department and division heads are empowered to recommend who among their respective personnel could be appointed to casual plantilla positions based on their track record of performance, length of service and CS Professional eligibility.
Personnel appointed to casual plantilla position will now receive benefits and allowances like regular employees.
Many of them have been in the service for several years, with Civil Service Professional eligibility and or pursuant to Republic Act 1080.
Hence, Dr. Depositario urges city government employees who have no Civil Service professional eligibility to take the examinations so that when they pass, they will be eligible for appointment to casual plantilla and regular positions provided they meet all the other requirements.
