Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo confers the plaque and citation to Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief-of-Staff General Cirilito Sobejana, a Medal of Valor Awardee, declaring him as an honorary citizen of Dumaguete City.
The citation lauds Sobejana as “a true blooded Negrosanon, who distinguished himself in combat, rose from the ranks, a true soldier, a gentleman and kept the finest traditions of the Filipino soldiery.”
“It is therefore fitting and proper to adopt General Sobejana as one of Dumaguete City’s honorary constituents in recognition of his exemplary service and gallantry worthy of emulation.”
General Sobejana expressed his profound gratitude to Mayor Remollo for the prestige accorded to him as an honorary constituent of Dumaguete City and reiterated his strong affection to the city, which was his home while finishing his secondary education at the Negros Oriental High School.
Being a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, General Sobejana was also given tribute by his fellow Eagles to inlcude Mayor Remollo, Mayor Manjoe Sycip of Amlan, Mayor Galicano Truita of Dauin, retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas and several other members led by PSidlakan Negros Eagles Club President Dennis Furbeyre.
City Councilors Karissa Tolentino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Lilani Ramon, Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK President Renz Macion, Punong Barangays and heads of the various departments in the City Government are present to the ceremony held in honor General Sobejana with his immediate family.
