The first batch of qualified Overseas Filipino Workers or their next of kin received the financial assistance of P 5, 000 from the City Government at the Treasurer’s Office today.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo earlier approved the granting of financial assistance for distressed/displaced/abused OFWs or their families provided that they submit all the necessary requirements at least 1 year upon their arrival date before the OFW helpdesk at the Dumaguete City Public Employment Service Office
PESO Manager Maria Socorro P. Mira reiterated that only Filipino citizens, bonafide residents of Dumaguete City, beneficiaries or next of kin of OFWs (who died while on active duty) and distressed/displaced OFWs can be considered as beneficiaries of the program.
More qualified OFWs have been processing their application for the financial assistance, which will be approved and released in the coming weeks.
For further inquiries please contact our PESO Office through 226-3530, 523-3702 or visit the OFW Helpdesk 2nd floor Building 2 of the Public Market Complex to secure application forms.
