The number of active COVID-19 cases in the city has dropped to 53 following the recovery of 11 patients but with 6 new cases reported today by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla.
The 6 new cases are: the 65-year-old grandfather who was earlier exposed to 2 COVID patients; a 39-year-old employee of the Hall of Justice; 25-year-old female student exposed to NEGOR-COV 2455; 19-year-old male student with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness and 2 male BPO employees.
Thus, the total active COVID-19 cases dropped to 53 with 569 recoveries and 33 deaths, as of Wednesday.
The 11 COVID-19 patients who recovered are: 2 members of a family in Barangay Bagacay; a 69-year-old househelper; the 32-year-old CSR agent; 2 residents of Barangay Daro; the 26-year-old close contact of NEGOR-COV 2240; the 28-year-old female traveler and the 2 male residents of Poblacion 8.
Meanwhile, 20 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) are under strict quarantine as they are known contacts of COVID-19 patients from the towns of Bindoy and Sibulan as well as those of Barangays Taclobo, Junob, Candau-ay, Cadawinonan, Daro, Batinguel and Bagacay.
In contrast, 8 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without
any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
None of the 216 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
