No new COVID-19 cases or recoveries were reported on Sunday thus the number of active cases remain to be 60 with 554 recoveries and 33 deaths since COVID-19 affected the city from January 30, 2020 to May 2, 2021.
However, about 20 more close contacts exposed to the most recent COVID-19 cases from Barangays Piapi, Bagacay, Bantayan, Junob, Cadawinonan, Tabuc-tubig, Candau-ay and Poblacion 8 have been quarantined and will be swab tested.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that the 60 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (7), Bajumpandan (2), Balugo (1), Banilad (1), Bantayan (6), Batinguel (3), Buñao (2), Calindagan (1), Camanjac (1), Candau-ay (1), Daro (7), Junob (4), Looc (1), Mangnao (1), Piapi (13), Poblacion 7 (2), Poblacion 8 (2), Pulantubig (1) Tabuc-tubig (1) and Taclobo (3).
Meanwhile, 32 Persons Under Monitoring were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
Only 1 of the 189 Persons Under Monitoring seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
