City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the active COVID-19 cases increased to 43 following the confirmation of 6 additional cases, Thursday.
The 6 new COVID cases are: the 22-year-old BPO agent with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI; the 27-year-old male resident of Barangay Daro with ILI; a government employee with ILI; the 3 female residents of Barangay Junob who were close contacts to NEGOR-COV 2240 and of a confirmed case from Sibulan.
Meanwhile, 2 COVID-19 patients, both senior citizens have also recovered as of today.
Thus, since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to April 29, 2021 the city has 43 active COVID cases, 551 recoveries and 32 deaths.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s IATF-MEID that 18 Person Under Monitoring (PUMs) completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 17 individuals are quarantined beginning today after they were exposed to COVID positive cases.
None of the 163 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
