Six (6) new COVID-19 cases along with 1 death were reported today by the City Health Office.
The latest fatality is the 26year-old female resident of Barangay Bantayan, who was swabbed after she expired in a hospital on Friday and was cremated.
Her swab test result confirms she was COVID-19 positive at the time of her death and all her close contacts have since been quarantined to be swabbed tomorrow.
Hence, there are now 39 active COVID-19 cases, 546 recoveries and 32 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to April 27, 2021.
The 8 new COVID-19 cases are: 80-year-old grandmother with comorbidities, who was rushed to the hospital with Influenza Like Illness or ILI; a 34-year-old daughter who was exposed to her COVID positive parents in Barangay Bajumpandan; a 44-year-old female private teacher with travel history to Siquijor; a 69-year-old grandmother who was hospitalized due to ILI; a 25-year-old nursing attendant of a hospital also with ILI and the 39-year-old male German national although a traveler but with no known exposure.
Ten (10) Persons Under Monitoring are under strict quarantine as they are known contacts of COVID-19 positive cases in Barangays Cadawinonan, Taclobo and Bagacay.
In contrast, 10 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
